We have designed our own corrugated cardboard boxes, which come in two sizes. They’re made from 68% recycled paper and the rest is from sustainable trees grown in New Zealand. The boxes are fully recyclable. They’re designed to protect the plant during delivery, by locking the plant in place. They also look smart when they’re delivered. The boxes open easily and have slots inside to allow a greeting card to be added without the need to use glue or extra packaging.
Each plant is placed inside a plastic bag that is secured to prevent soil loss and to retain the moisture that the plant needs. We use biodegradable bags, that can be composted at home or commercially.
Finally, both large and small plants are secured into their boxes for safe delivery.
Please contact us via admin@giveplants.co.nz and our Account Manager will get in touch with you to discuss your requirements. For larger volumes, we can co-brand the packaging to make your gift stand out.
Plants need light, air and water to remain healthy & green.
On receiving your gift, it is best to open the box immediately & keep it open until you are ready to give your gift.
Carefully pour ½ cup of water into the plastic bag, this should be sufficient water for up to 3 days provided your plant in not in full sun.
This website provides basic care instructions for each plant variety. For further information we would suggest looking at one of the New Zealand gardening advice websites.
Our office is open 8.00-4.30, Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays)
If you tick the ‘leave at door’ option when ordering, your plant will be dropped off even if there is no-one at home. If you don’t tick the ‘leave at door option’ and there’s no-one home when the courier calls, they’ll leave a card in the letterbox advising the recipient to phone the courier company and let them know when they’ll be home for the courier to drop off their plant, or where it can be safely left.
You are purchasing a gift for someone, so we understand the importance of the gift arriving safely. We guarantee that the recipient will receive a plant in perfect order. On the rare occasion that something does go wrong, we’ll put it right. Email info@giveplants.co.nz and we’ll send a replacement plant to ensure that you’re completely satisfied.
NORTH ISLAND (approximate delivery times)
We aim to deliver orders received by 10am (Monday to Thursday) to main North Island centres the following day. Please note; if an order is placed after 10am on Thursday it will not be dispatched until Monday as we don't want plants sitting in the courier depots over the weekend.
Add 2-3 days for rural deliveries and outlying towns, as the courier may not deliver daily.
SOUTH ISLAND (approximate delivery times)
Deliveries to South Island main centres take 2-3 days if received before 10am, plus 2-3 days for rural deliveries and outlying towns, as the courier may not deliver daily.
